MYOB - Setting Up a New Company File

Double-click on the link MYOB to your desktop and select Create a new company file.

This will take you to the new wizard window company file. Click Next. Enter your 12-digit serial number of the MYOB product (which is inside the CD case). If you do not have the serial number of the product, this can be added later, when you register and activate the product.
The fields marked with * are fields that should be included in order to go.Other fields can be added at a later time.

Enter your business name and any other choice - click on Next.

Enter your financial year - current year last month of its fiscal year, the month of conversion - which is the month that you start MYOB, take your business.

This does not necessarily reflect the current month may be a month before today. For example, May and July that you want to install MYOB, but you wantmay be a record of all transactions year to date, the month of April. This means you could enter all transactions from April until this month.

Finally, enter the number of periods of separation that you want to use. Most companies use 12 billing cycles, but a 13 with a pair of period adjustment to record the transactions. Click Next.
Read this window when you click Next, you can not change the accounting information you enter. Click Next.

Build your ownAccount List - This window provides options on how to create your own list of accounts. The most common way is a standard list, select the provided by MYOB.
You can also choose a list of account provided by the accountant to import after the creation of your company or create your own once you start using company file. Regardless of which option you choose, you can change the account codes at a later time. I chose the option provided by the municipality with a beginningMYOB. Click Next.

Select your account list. In the drop-down box, choose the industry classification, the majority of your company. The nature of the transaction window-down, the company decided that fits better. Click Next.

Create your company file - check if your name is correct because you get a chance to go back and change if necessary. If everything is OK, click Next.

Conclusion - your company file is created and you click the Setup optionAssistant to further customize your company file, or click on the command center to open the file and start entering transactions. Setup Assistant can be adjusted at a later date.

Click Command Center - The Welcome File your business - you can start entering the details of your customers and suppliers in the register and all other operations in various command centers.
